A Berean’s Breakfast… “New Years Eve 2018!”

Here it is, “the end…” “Where did it go?” “What do you remember?” “How have you changed?” “Has the world gotten better or worse?” “Besides yourself, who have you helped?” “What’s next?”

I guess I could go on asking a lot of questions, but for 2018… it’s over. All the dreams, plans, worry, joy, sadness, successes and failures are behind you. “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda… “Procrastination,” not a word we like to hear about ourselves.

Proverbs 6:4 Don’t put it off; do it now!
Don’t rest until you do.

Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
But the soul of the diligent is made fat.

James 4:13-17 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” 16But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. 17Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Proverbs 10:4-5 A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Jeremiah 17:10 “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

The Bible is very clear on procrastination and laziness and time management, etc! There are sins of commission and sins of omission. Things we do and the things we know we are to do and don’t! I could have filled many pages with many verses from God’s Word, clear guidance and instruction. My mission or gift is to preach the Word, Sometimes with Words, but hopefully most time with actions. I want all to hear, “The Good News!”

Romans 10:11-15 For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” 12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

14How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!”

We have all heard, and many of our friends and family have heard from us! We must never grow weary of doing good, praying, preaching the Gospel, for there was a time when we did not believe!

Before you know it, we will be looking back at 2019, God willing, and what will we say? Take 2019 one day at a time, praying, “Today Lord, be with me, change me, light my path, guide my steps, help me to be a better person, more like you and less like me! Have you made the leap? Then, 2019 will be the best year ever and maybe the year we go.. Home!
